I can’t believe it’s almost been a month since I posted. Time has been going by so fast, and school is absolutely crazy. I have a statistics exam in exactly a week, and I am slowly losing my mind over it since I also have a presentation to do for Tuesday on a pair assignment that we are writing today, and a group assignment that I’m doing on the side, and an individual assignment that I’m not currently doing at all. All assignments are due on the same day (spell it, f-u-n!) and I just don’t believe there are enough hours in the day to do everything.
I’ve done quite a lot of things the past month or so. I immigrated, I bought lots of stuff from IKEA, and I voted for my government election back home:
I successfully (except from one handle that came on upside-down) built an IKEA drawer system all by myself:
(Some of it was made in Denmark. I find this hilarious.)
I celebrated my birthday, and I got presents:
(I haven’t yet cooked anything from it, but there are some fun recipes!)
And I got a beautiful necklace from Mark. It’s a “real zirconia”, came with a little certificate and everything, since he couldn’t afford a real diamond. Aaw!
I haven’t done much knitting, except from a small headband in bulky yarn. It was kind of fun to knit, but I haven’t been wearing it much since it rains a lot here. And when it rains a lot you want your whole head covered, not just your ears. When it’s really windy it doesn’t make much of a difference anyway – I’m thinking a colourwork headband like the one from Kate Davies would’ve been a better choice. But by the time I would’ve finished that, it would be summer again…
I’m working on a pair of socks for Mark. It’s comforting and easy knitting, and he doesn’t want them to be too long so I hope they’ll go reasonably fast (meaning, I hope they’ll be done before the end of the year, which at the current rate is almost laughable). I’ve found a local SnB that I hope to join in a couple of weeks when my exam is over with, so I can get out and socialise with people that aren’t from my school. I’m really happy with my group mates, we hang out a lot outside of school, but somehow we always end up discussing homework. When really, I’d rather be talking about knitting. Two of them are interested in knitting though, so maybe I could bring them…
In the mean time, I blog for my school’s magazine website as well, so if you want more regular updates I can be caught at Univers - mine is “Trine Blogs”, in case you had trouble finding it. ;) I just (literally, just now) got an e-mail from the editor that she would like to use part of my most recent blog in the actual magazine (translated into Dutch, I think) – they’ll be taking my picture and everything! Very exciting; there’s always something happening in my life right now. I love being busy but man, I wish the schoolwork would lighten up a bit. If nothing else then just so I could knit and blog more…
